Branch of service: army, air force (except marine aviation), the coast guard, the troops of the NKVD border troops. Unit: 278th rifle division (1st formation). The summer day of 1941 remained forever in his memory. In the morning, the duty officer came running and urgently called to work. And there is already a representative from the district with summonses for military service. Everyone has one word on their lips-war! Families cry and cry. The village sent the first conscripts. In early July, they began to form youth detachments for the construction of defensive structures. From Voronezh, the train went to the area of Yelnya. The Germans were already near Smolensk at that time. From morning to night they dug trenches and anti-tank ditches. The enemy is on the outskirts of Kharkiv-you need to replenish. Vasily's father is already at the front, his sick mother and brother and sister are at home, but there is a summons and three days to gather. So Vasily Panchenko became a fighter of the 278th Rifle division, which after completion was transferred to the city of Kolomna near Moscow. The boy was only a couple of months away from turning eighteen. The division was in reserve on the Western front. In March 1942, the division was relocated to the Kharkiv region. In may 1942, a bloody battle took place there, in which thousands of soldiers and commanders were killed, 70 thousand people were missing. In may 1943, for the skillful command of a platoon and an important operation to capture the enemy's "language", Panchenko Vasily was awarded the first officer rank. And in October 1943, 16 shrapnel riddled the officer's back. A 21-year-old officer leaves the hospital with uncut wounds in January 1944. A short meeting with his family and back to the front, to catch up with his army, which as part of the troops of the 1st Ukrainian front with the fighting drove the Nazis from the ground. As part of the 126th light mountain rifle regiment, a company under the command of Vasily Panchenko liberated Kamianets-Podilsky, Khotyn, Chernivtsi, Stanislav, and fought heavy battles in the mountains on the Polish-Ukrainian border. Again the wound and again the hospital in the Polish city of Sanok and the Carpathian city of Sambor. And again in his native regiment. Victory for the company and his colleagues came only on may 11, 1945, when the army surrounded a large group of Nazis who wanted to escape from Czechoslovakia to the West. For 24-year-old Vasily, the Second World war ended in distant Herbin, after the surrender of Japan. The first post-war years for the military Vasily Matveevich took place in Chukotka. Then he continued his military service in the Carpathian military district.

I remember how his grandmother was jealous of Sophia Loren, and their banter about it))). I remember how my grandfather prepared my sister and me for school, personally drawing recipes and math tasks in the form of exercises from figures for adding and subtracting. Of course, my grandfather was always "in demand" in the company of friends, in city events. Star! He left early, at 58, and was terribly ill for a long time and cruelly. It is not clear-for what? ... Although now it is even scary to think how cruelly painful everything that is happening in his Homeland in Ukrainian Slavyansk. These events would have killed him... And recently, he again walked around red square. Along with her granddaughter and great-grandson. In the immortal formation of the Immortal regiment. And I was so happy that people remember and honor their departed relatives who defended the world without fascism. It's the grandest parade I've ever seen in my entire life!!! Voluntary. Clean. No drunks. What can I say, none of them lit a cigarette while they were in the ranks. German Ivanovich Puchkov. From a working-class Ukrainian family. A beautiful man, beautifully defended his country from enemies. Hero Of The Soviet Union. Streets in Pinsk and Grodno are named after him. We remember, love, and are proud!

Name: last NAME: Petrov first NAME: Nicholas middle name: Vasilyevich CITY: Kungur, Molotov (Perm) region DATE of BIRTH: 09.05.1919 DATE of DEATH: 25.09.1988 HISTORY: Nikolay Vasilyevich Petrovich was Born in 1919, in the city of Kungur, Perm region. He was raised in an orphanage. In December 1942, he was called up to serve in the army by the Chui district military Commissariat of the Kirghiz SSR. At this time, our troops surrounded a large group of German troops in Stalingrad and fought fierce and persistent battles to destroy it. Nikolay got into the 328th rifle regiment, which defended the Stalingrad tractor plant. There was heavy fighting with heavy losses on both sides. The 328th rifle regiment was also heavily damaged, and its remnants were transferred to the 1379th rifle regiment of the 87th rifle division, which defended the Krasny Oktyabr factory. This plant continued to work in combat conditions-it repaired our tanks. From January 7 to February 2, 1943, there were fierce battles, and the 1379th rifle regiment defended the factory. On January 26, 1943, the German group in Stalingrad was divided into two parts during the fighting. On January 30, 1943, the commander of the German group, field Marshal Paulus, was captured. On February 2, 1943, the Germans surrendered. The fighting in Stalingrad stopped. Our troops, including the 87th rifle division, fought a rapid offensive to the West, liberating the territory of the Rostov region. Retreating, the enemy in some areas provided stubborn resistance. So it happened in the area of Zimovniki and the village of Olginskaya. As a result of offensive battles, the troops of the rifle division liberated the village of Olginskaya on February 7, 1943. In these battles, Nikolay Petrov showed courage and bravery, for which the Executive Committee of the Olginsky village Council awarded him the title "Honorary citizen of the village of Olginskaya". After the liberation of the village of Olginskaya, the 87th rifle division fought for the liberation of the village of Aksayskaya for a week. There were two natural obstacles in the way of the division's advance — the don river and the high ground on its right Bank, where German troops were stationed. It was winter. There was ice on the river. But it was impossible to overcome the river. German emplacements (guns, mortars, machine guns) were firing heavily at our advancing troops. Residents of the village of Aksayskaya, teenagers Sasha Ievlev and brothers Vasya and Zhenya Krivtsov, helped the scouts to go to the village and showed them where the German firing points and concentrations of German troops are located. The enemy was seriously defeated, and by the morning of February 14, 1943, the village was liberated. On the same day, our troops liberated Rostov. The enemy retreated and took up a defensive position on the Mius river. A stable Mius front was formed, where there was persistent fighting for five months. Nikolay Vasilyevich also participated in these battles. The Germans were sitting on the heights of the Western Bank of the Mius river, which dominated the flat Eastern Bank where our troops were stationed. The enemy was constantly shelling our positions, causing heavy losses. After the defeat of the German troops near Kursk, on August 18, 1943, our troops on the Mius front went on the offensive, broke through the enemy's deep-echeloned defenses, liberated the city of Taganrog and entered the territory of Ukraine. Name: last NAME: Pikalev NAME: Vasily PATRONYMIC: Grigorievich CITY: Novgorod region DATE of BIRTH: 26.11.1928 date of DEATH: 01.05.2003 HISTORY: Title: Red army soldier. The war probably did not pass by a single house. Now, I'm going to tell you a little bit about my aunt and uncle. My aunt, Alexis-pikaleva Valentina Efimovna, was a partisan in the Belarusian forests, then a home front worker. Uncle Vasya – her classmate, from the first grade at the same Desk sat, so the love was long and long – already up to 84 years. There is a war going on. Uncle Vasya is twelve and a half years old, men at the front. They called him to the district Executive Committee and gave him a task: to drive a herd of cows deep into the rear, as the Germans were advancing. There were too many cows, and he was alone. They gave me a single-barrelled shotgun, ammunition for it, a fiftieth-size sweatshirt, a coat, a mattress, and a blanket all rolled into one. Another – 20 loaves of good rye bread, a mug, matches. And the way is not close-350 km to the Vologda region. They said to drink milk-at least it will crack, so that the cows do not start. And our shepherd boy went. During the day I rested, and at night I went with a gun at the ready, so that the cows would not be taken away. I finished walking in 2.5 months. The weather has changed, the sweatshirt is already by the way, it is warm in it, only my feet are cold-a barefooted shepherd boy. Drove as received on the list-so much and passed, the document was issued to him that the cows were accepted. They say go. Where to go? The Germans are already where they came from. Frosts, cold, he began to ask for military cars to the front. He was taken, a month and a half later, when his feet almost frostbite. The fighter was 13 years old at the time. And Vasya fought right up to 46 years. I stayed in Poland for a while, I was watching a movie in Panama. I was wounded three times, my hand was completely dry in my old age, and I didn't like to be treated. He served until 1946, but in 1945 participated in the Victory parade. I look at the chronicle and don't find it. Returned from the war. The document on acceptance of burenok so all war and coast, gave it to the district party Committee. Then he married Valentina. A year later, the term of urgent service came up and our guardsman started serving again. My wife is in medical school studying, waiting for a baby. And then the students of the school were sent to the sawmill, and the young soldier did not have a son. And there were no more children. Lived, worked, traveled all over the USSR, worked as a trucker and dragged me with him. He wasn't a talker, I was the one who got everything from him on the sly when I was Hiking around the country. God rest his soul, no childhood, no youth, and life is not honey. And so it passed, this life. And he was a great worker! Where to us. All my life I had great respect for him and loved him like a father. And aunt Valya with her trouble. So I lived my life, but I was a favorite of both of them, and the love was mutual. Recorded from the words of her niece, Lyudmila Vasilyevna Ryzhikova, born in 1947.

Kalinkino, Nikolsky district, Vologda region DATE of BIRTH: 03.02.1917 DATE of DEATH: 06.11.2004 HISTORY: Title: Red army soldier. Branch of service: Artillery. My great-grandfather served in Ukraine. There he was found by the second world war. About him in the newspaper "Avangard" Nikolsky district wrote an article "we walked half of Europe, half of the Earth." Indeed, Kolya's great-grandfather liberated Ukraine, Moldova, Romania, and Hungary from the Nazis. In Romania, during the battle, the Germans surrounded our troops and captured all the soldiers. They had to endure both hunger and cold. The Romanians were sold to the Russians as slaves. The prisoners worked for the rich from early morning until late at night. It was a hell of a job. My grandfather was held captive for two years. Then my great-grandfather fought in Hungary. While liberating Budapest, in 1944, he was wounded in the left leg. A certificate of injury is kept in the family archive. Great-grandfather participated in a fierce battle near lake Balaton. There were 11 Panzer divisions on the enemy side, and much fewer on our side. But our warriors did not want to give up. Many comrades died in this battle. When my great-grandfather told my mother about this, he cried. After all, his friends were dying before his eyes. Bodies of the dead were strewn everywhere and tanks were moving over them. There were a lot of burned tanks. Liberating country after country, great-grandfather and his comrades reached the Alps. This is where the war ended. From the Alpine mountains 3 months went to their territory. It was a grueling journey, my strength was running out: we walked for a day, rested for two. They came to the town of Starokostiantyniv in West Ukraine. The city was destroyed. Our soldiers restored it. My grandfather also participated in the defeat of fascist gangs South-West of Budapest. They caught enemies in the woods, settlements. For this, the great-grandfather was awarded a thank you from Stalin himself.
