The faces of WWII Heroes

Rudenko (Vladykina) Maria Dmitrievna_x000D_ _x000D_ She was born in 1924 in the village of Lobanovo, Danilovsky district of the Volgograd region. Rank: red army soldier. Branch of service: army, air force (except marine aviation), the coast guard, the troops of the NKVD border troops. Before the war, Maria Dmitrievna Rudenko-Vladykina and her older sister lived and studied in Stalingrad. They made life plans, but the war destroyed everything. My sister was immediately called to the front in July (the medical school where she studied had an early release of nurses), and in the fall my father also went to the front. Maria continued to study at the pedagogical College. In the autumn, the city began to build defensive lines. Together with others, she worked on digging a pit for military installations in the garden of the drama theater named after M. Gorky. Then they dug trenches. But the anti-tank ditch was dug when it was already cold, the ground was frozen, and they, the stalingraders, beat the ground with crowbars, threw it up, and it crumbled… - And how I wanted to eat, - recalls Maria Dmitrievna, - I can't even describe. You sit and cry and nibble on the crumbs of these 400 grams of bread - and you won't see how you eat it. And we had to dig, we understood that well, and we all worked hard. But then I could not imagine that we will face that I, a girl, before leaving the army I led into the field the harvester to remove the bread under the troubled sky of Stalingrad that women farmers in the winter of 1943 will thresh the bread that two weeks master the lathe and will work as a Turner in Loboykovka MTS that will fight with the enemy and go from Stalingrad to the Oder, liberating Ukraine, Poland, will face close to the death and remain alive. Memoirs of a veteran in 1975: "in 1943, immediately after the final exams at the pedagogical school, at the call of the Central Committee of the Komsomol, I went to the front. My personal combat path began from the walls of Stalingrad in the 19th Separate battalion of the VNOS, which was part of the 62nd guard’s army under the command of General V. I. Chuikov. I was an observer-telephone operator and at the same time a Komsomol group member, a member of the Komsomol active part, edited the "Battle sheet" and wrote my front-line notes in the newspaper of our part. The task of the air defense observers was to warn the battery of a raid by enemy aircraft and prevent an attack on the protected object and further to the rear of the country. That is why we had to know all the types of German planes, Soviet planes and other countries that were in service with our army and be able to distinguish them by the noise of the engine. This was especially important at night, when the plane itself is invisible. It was also necessary to have a good knowledge of the device and the principle of operation of telephone sets used in the army, so that if necessary, any malfunction could be eliminated quickly and independently. We also had to be able to build a telephone line on our own and repair damage to it. Here is an example. There were battles for the liberation of the city of Dnepropetrovsk. Our unit stood on the protection of the railway, along which trains with manpower, military equipment and fuel were moving near Dnepropetrovsk. Dark autumn night. Drizzling rain, mud, slush. Another German air RAID began. And on the road, there was a train with fuel for military equipment. We sent a report to the RP on the signal "Air" and our anti-aircraft gunners met with fire. However, one Henkel 111 aircraft managed to break through and drop a bomb that hit the main tank of the train, but the locomotive drivers and the soldiers accompanying the train were able to quickly unhook and pull the burning tank from the main train, and at this moment we lost communication. I was given the task to restore the connection immediately. Our telephone cable ran from the observation post, which was located in an open field, along the village, then passed through a small river overgrown with reeds, then through the cemetery, forest belt and connected to the main line at the railway. I immediately went to complete the task. I walked, getting bogged down in the mud, meter by meter probing the cable, looking for damage, waded across the river, filled my boots with water, crossed the cemetery and almost at the railway found a wire break, repaired the damage and returned back. It was only when she entered the dugout that she felt the cold on her hands and the icy water on her booted feet. I would also like to describe such an episode from front-line life, when we crossed the bug river and entered the territory of Poland, a detachment of our female fighters passed through the city of Holmes, and Polish citizens greeted us with admiration and cheers. And you know what an indescribable feeling was in the soul of each of us! It is a great joy and pride for our Soviet Army, for our people, who drove out the fascist evil spirits from their land and continues to expel them from the enslaved countries of Europe, that we, Soviet girl soldiers, together with everyone participate in this great historical event." She served in the 19th separate battalion of the VNOS, which was part of the 62nd army under the command of V. I. Chuikov. She was a telephone operator. More than once it was necessary, risking life, with a coil and a machine gun in hands under attacks of fascists to establish communication between command posts… This happened in November 1944 in Poland. Then they were in the Lublin Voivodeship. The command instructed Maria Dmitrievna to deliver a secret package. We had to go through the forest. There was only one danger – to run into Akovtsy-Polish nationalists. And so, it happened: in the woods towards her came four home army soldiers with guns. She quickly buried the bag in the sand. The knowledge of the Ukrainian language and the fact that Maria Dmitrievna was dressed like a village saved her. In July 1945, the girls of the 19th battalion, including her, were demobilized. In August, Maria Dmitrievna came to visit relatives in the village of Chernukha. And since October 1945, she began to study in absentia at the Arzamas pedagogical school, then at the Arzamas teachers ' Institute (Gorky region). At the same time, she began working as a primary school teacher in the village of Verizki, and three years later she was transferred to the Motovilovsky school, where she worked until retirement. Maria Dmitrievna raised two sons: Alexander followed in her footsteps, works in one of the schools of Arzamas as a head teacher, and Mikhail, who graduated from MAI, works in Nizhny Novgorod, artistic Director of the Motovilovsky house of culture. Village Motovilova Arzamas district of Nizhny Novgorod oblast. The gunners stood to their death, suppressing the enemy's defenses with their fire and supporting the crossing troops. As a result of this summer-autumn campaign, the Red Army liberated the Donbass, part of Ukraine, and began the liberation of Belarus. After the fighting on the Dnieper, the Fourth artillery corps took a direct part in the Belarusian operation. The fifth breakthrough artillery division especially distinguished itself in these battles. In early 1944, the division supported the sixty-fifth army in the battle for the city of Kalinkovichi. Due to the attentive attitude to the car - his car was constantly on the move, on a combat mission and despite the off-road, mud and bad weather-the assigned task was always performed accurately and on time. Rashov Gregory Dmitrievich_x000D_ _x000D_ Rank: Senior sergeant. Branch of service: army, air force (except marine aviation), the coast guard, the troops of the NKVD border troops. Division: 120th guards rifle Rogachev red banner order of Suvorov and Kutuzov division. My father, Grigory Dmitrievich Rashov, born in 1920, was drafted into the red army on 26.09.1940, on the day of his birth, he turned 20 years old. Already on July 13, 1941, as part of the Western front, he entered his first battle, and on July 25, 1941, he was wounded, but remained in the ranks. For a month, the troops held back the onslaught of the enemy. August 15, 1941 a group of fighters, which included my father, was ordered to cover the withdrawal of units. In this battle, my father was shell-shocked, and he and those who survived were surrounded. It was not possible to break through to their own, the front was moving further and further away from the Bryansk region, so they remained behind enemy lines, organizing the battle group "LIN" - Love and hate. In May 1942, the LIN group joined the Suvorov partisan detachment. The detachment was led by the head of the NKVD of the Bryansk region, who had fallen into the blockade with the pseudonym Zhukov. No one knew his real last name. Having a connection with Moscow and the headquarters of the partisan movement, the detachment received weapons, clothing, food, and medicine. The task of the partisan detachment was intelligence and subversive activities. Once again, having been behind enemy lines on a combat mission, a group of partisans was forced to evade pursuit. According to the father, they were already saying goodbye to life, because the fascists were catching up with them, the dogs were already barking. And then it was decided to go into the swamp. The partisans were completely submerged in the water, covered with raised moss, breathing through tubes that protruded above the water. They remained in this position for some time, until the danger was over. One day, my father and 2 other partisans were assigned to steal the mayor. Taking advantage of the opportunity, the partisans entered the office, disarmed him and took him out of the village, safely reaching their deployment. The partisans gave the Nazis a lot of trouble, and they tried their best to find out their location. In 1943, the unit was infiltrated by a spy, the head of the pow camp. But it was not long before he had to transmit the plans of the partisans; a group of escaped prisoners of war identified him, and he was shot. The partisan detachment was repeatedly blockaded when the Nazis wanted to destroy it. In one of these battles, my father was wounded and sent to the rear for treatment. In October 1943, the Suvorov detachment joined the red Army. From October 2, 1943, my father was already fighting in the 336th rifle regiment of the 120th guards red banner rifle division in the Bryansk-Belorussian front. On February 23, 1944, the division crossed the Dnieper river, and on February 24, 1944, it successfully stormed one of the oldest Belarusian cities – Rogachev. I remember my father's story about how he was sent to the platoon of penal guards, the next morning it was necessary to take the height. And the penalty takers were all majors and colonels. And here is a Colonel and he says: "You, son, in the attack, go behind us, we still die, and you can still live. And we know what to do and how to do it ourselves, without you." The height was taken, the Colonel was wounded and rehabilitated, and the next day the adjutant of this Colonel arrived in the regiment with an offer to his father to go to serve in his regiment, but his father refused, he got used to his regiment, his guys. The 336th rifle regiment participated in the assault on the fortress city of ostrolenka, in the battles to expand the bridgehead on the West Bank of the Narew river, in the East Prussian operation (January-April 1945), and in the defeat of the enemy group southwest of Konigsberg. As a result of the fighting for the liberation of Konigsberg, my father was awarded the medal "for the capture of Konigsberg". As part of the 336th rifle regiment, he also participated in the Berlin offensive. North of Frankfurt an der Oder, they were sent to eliminate a large group of enemy troops that were trying to break through to Berlin to help its garrison. Extract from the award list: "... when advancing to the height of 68.6, which is South-West of 1.8 km of the village. Eisenberg 15.3.1945, Department of Rashov Grigory Dmitrievich rapid throw first broke into the enemy's trench. In this battle, they destroyed 4 enemy firing points and 22 enemy soldiers, 10 people were taken prisoner. At dawn on 16.3.45, the enemy launched a counterattack. His squad did not flinch and mercilessly exterminated the enemy infantry, where up to 30 soldiers and officers were destroyed. The counterattack was repulsed. Worthy of a government award: "Order Of The Red Star". After eliminating the encircled enemy troops South-East of Berlin, their division was ordered to move into the depths of Germany, destroying the wandering fascist detachments. Through Potsdam, Brandenburg, and other cities, they reached the Elbe river on May 5. He did not have to participate in the famous meeting with the American troops on the Elbe: their regiment, battered and battered in battle, was withdrawn, and soldiers arrived in their place, dressed, as my father said, "like a needle." Here, on the Elbe, and ended my father's fighting path on the roads of war. He was awarded the order of the Red Star, medals: "For Bravery", "for the capture of Konigsberg", "for the Victory over Germany 1941-1945". My father was demobilized only in 1946.

Rodin Vasily Petrovich_x000D_ Rank: Colonel. Type of troops: Armored and mechanized troops. When the Great Patriotic war began, my father, Vasily Petrovich, was 18 years old. He had already graduated from the Orenburg tank school and was at the front with the first shot. What my child's head remembers – he fought on the Leningrad front, then – on the 1st Belorussian. Awarded two orders of the red banner, two orders of Lenin, had a lot of medals and certificates. Three times I burned in a tank, all my life I carried a piece of shrapnel in my lungs, my legs and hands also had shrapnel. He was shell-shocked, but devoted his whole life to the army. He graduated from the war with the rank of Colonel, and later studied at the military Academy. I remember from the stories of this episode: "They sent a replenishment, not tankers, but loaders, and they are 14-15 years old, and weigh forty kilograms, only three can lift a shell. I cry, swear, and pray to God that they are alive, and I fatten them. They are 14-15, and I am 20, who went through this terrible war. And I looked at these starving people as if they were children, but what difference does it make… But I have experience behind me, and therefore I am alive." I went through the whole war, didn't smoke a cigarette, didn't drink 100 grams, and didn't do it all. But the doctors darned him better for his rations…I never spoke about fear in battle, but I think this Communist was not iron-clad, because tanks, like infantry, are always ahead, there is something to be afraid of. I remember that I mentioned the Oder river, so I must have reached Germany. My father was a strong man. And I know how my parents met and how they broke up. Apparently, he loved my mother very much. I was already an adult when he said to her: "at least Take me to die next to you." And to me: "Well, why don't you say something, tell her to come back!" Yes, life is strange for someone else. But I saw my father's love for my mother, and I don't think I saw my mother's love for my father. And who will sort them two out. This strong man, a warrior, probably could not cope with this little obstinate woman. He lost this fight. Recorded from the words of her daughter, Lyudmila Vasilyevna Ryzhikova, born in 1976

Ragozin Anatoly Ivanovich_x000D_ _x000D_ Rank: Sergeant Branch of the army: Land forces, air force (except naval aviation), coast service, NKVD troops, border guard Unit: 119th rifle division (1st formation) Anatoly Ivanovich was taken to the front at 17 years old. As a cadet, he got into the military unit of the 119 Western rifle division, where he immediately showed his best side and soon became the commander of the rifle division of the 77th guards rifle regiment. And after quite some time, he was seriously injured. But this is the war, there was no time for a long treatment, and not yet fully recovered, in 1944 he was forced to go to the front again, where he was appointed commander of the 237th guards rifle platoon, but he was again wounded… After the second wound, my grandfather returned to the battlefield as an assistant commander of a rifle platoon of the 237th guards rifle division. But soon received a third wound and in 1945 he was mobilized with the rank of Sergeant. My grandfather went as far as Dresden. He walked through Belarus, Poland, and part of Germany. He fought on a real battlefield. He was an ordinary infantryman who did not hide in the "back rooms of the higher ranks” and never looked for an opportunity to avoid the front, he went to the battlefield, defending his country with his chest and leading an entire rifle regiment! He did not hide from the enemy, sending very young boys, like cannon fodder, to die for their country... he was one of these boys... was a real soldier... one of thousands of the same, thanks to which the country got its victory! A. I. Ragozin returned from the war with many wounds, but alive. He married and raised five children and many grandchildren. He became a good accountant, who was approached by many in the area where they lived, and he fully took place in his life, as if these war years had never happened. He managed to live to old age with his beloved wife and go to another world surrounded by relatives and friends in a very old age. We remember... We are proud!

Razinkov Evsey Yakovlevich_x000D_ _x000D_ Rank: Captain military Branch: aviation Division: 47th mixed aviation division Razinkov Evsey Yakovlevich was born on June 10, 1903 in the army since 1925. He began his service as a Kremlin cadet. At the call of the Komsomol, he graduated from the Kachin school of pilots. He served in the fighter aviation. During the years of repression, at the General meeting of the unit, the only one stood up for his commander, who was accused of treason, and helped his family. He was demoted for this. The commander was later rehabilitated. At Bobruisk, due to the German breakthrough, the aviation regiment left the airfield, and captain Razinkov was instructed to evacuate the documents and the flag of the regiment by car. In the forest, they were caught in a huge traffic jam of retreating troops and equipment. The traffic jam was created by the NKVD troops, who blocked the road with a truck that allegedly broke down with a secret archive. A chain surrounded the car and no one was allowed in. There were many officers there, but only my grandfather was not afraid to speak out against the NKVD, unite the soldiers and destroy the cordon. There was dirt in the broken car. They were German saboteurs. Razinkov E. Y. saved the banner of the regiment and the troops were not surrounded. As commander of squadron 236, IAP fought near Moscow. Personally, he shot down three German planes, made 84 sorties. He conducted front-line tests of the YAK1 aircraft. Awarded the Order of the red banner. He was killed in an air battle on January 17, 1942. The grave was found in 2012 in the village of Safonikha, Ruzsky district, Moscow region. A monument was erected by the search party "Nadezhda" in the city of Ruza.

Rakov Stepan Nikolaevich_x000D_ _x000D_ Rank: Lieutenant-colonel. Type of troops: Armored and mechanized troops. Stepan Rakov was born on August 18, 1926 in the village of Dubrava in the Kotovskaya rural administration of the Ardatovsky district, located 14 km Northwest of the Ardatov river. The locality was classified as unpromising and has now been removed from the administrative register. Dubrava is connected by dirt country roads in the North-West with the village of Yuzhilin (3 km), in the East with the village of Izmailovka (6 km), in the South-East with the village of Novola (5 km). In the area of the village originates R. Melava. The village is surrounded by deciduous forests. The settlement was founded presumably after 1917, during a campaign to organize agricultural communes. In 1925, the Dubrava commune consisted of 92 inhabitants. She was part of Cavallasca rural parish Council Ardatov, Arzamas district. Stepan Nikolaevich was born in a large family of a paramedic Nikolay Sepanovich Rakov and a peasant woman Evdokia Pavlovna Shmeleva. He had three brothers: the elder Alexey, the middle Ivan, the younger Mikhail and 2 sisters Nyura (Anna) and Varvara (16.12.1933). On January 2, 1944, as a 17-year-old boy, Stepan joined the red army as a tank driver. In April 1944 the 1514th light self-propelled artillery regiment was created on the basis of the 1514th fighter-anti-tank artillery regiment. Stepan Rakov also got into it. And at home, his girlfriend Lida (my grandmother Lydia Vasilyevna) was waiting for him. From the award lists it is known that from 16.12.1944 he participated in the battles as part of the III-th Belorussian front, and from 15.02.1945 as part of the I-th Baltic front. Stepan Nikolaevich said little about the war. Every time he was asked about it, tears came to his eyes, his speech faltered, and he refused to remember it - he had seen too many deaths. From his stories, it is known that during the war, he operated a SU-76 self-propelled artillery unit and a T-34 tank. From order 12/n of 20.04.1945 on awarding the Order of the red Star of the 1st degree, it follows that Stepan Rakov was slightly wounded on 21.01.1945. And at the beginning of February 45, he received his first Order of the red Star, " working as a gun commander (gunner) in offensive battles in the area of the village of Hussenen (East Prussia). On 12.02.1945 he destroyed 3 machine-gun points, 2 mortars, 22 carts with military cargo and up to 70 German soldiers and officers of the enemy. On March 5, 1945, Junior Sergeant S. N. Rakov, the gun commander (Adjuster) of the SU-76, was awarded the medal "for Bravery". From the order: "When repelling an enemy counterattack near the village of Kaitsenblik, direct fire from his gun destroyed 7 machine-gun points and up to 35 enemy soldiers and officers." Presumably, the battle for which Stepan Rakov was awarded the medal "for Bravery" took place on February 15-20, 1945 in the suburbs of Konigsberg. By decree of the Presidium of the USSR armed forces of 19.02.1945, the 1514th light self-propelled artillery regiment was awarded the order of Kutuzov III degree for exemplary performance of command tasks in battles with the German invaders, for the capture of the cities of Tilsit, gross, Skaisgirren, Aulovenen, Gillen, Kuakemen and for showing valor and courage. Later, on April 20, 1945, Stepan Rakov was awarded the second award of the Order of the red Star. From premium sheet Order 012/n 28th Separate Guards Tank Brigade Liozno known that "in the battles for the Soviet Motherland during the breakthrough of defense in the area Registan 6.04.1945 and subsequent battles, ARL of Leiderer, and repelling enemy counterattacks from the station Saaranen, fire his machine gun he killed up to 10 soldiers and officers. As part of the crew, he destroyed 2 guns, a machine gun, 3 bunkers and up to 15 soldiers and officers. This time Stepan Rakov's fighting vehicle was a T-34 tank. Stepan Nikolaevich told that when taking Konigsberg on one of the narrow streets of the suburb, his crew was blown up by an enemy gun and caught fire. He was able to get out of the tank, and the rest of the crew were killed. Stepan received a shrapnel wound in the neck and numerous burns, and was taken to a military hospital in a shell-shocked state. That's how my grandfather, like thousands of our other soldiers, fought heroically for Victory. Thank you to my Grandfather for Winning! Subsequently, Stepan Nikolaevich very much regretted that his injury did not allow him to reach Berlin in 1945. Stepan Nikolaevich decided to devote himself to military service and rose to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He died in 1995 at the age of 70.

Ryabov Pavel Aleksandrovich_x000D_ _x000D_ Rank: Red Army soldier. Pavel Ryabov is the father of my grandmother Sazonova (nee Ryabova) Raisa Pavlovna, that is, my great-grandfather. Unfortunately, there is too little information about him in our family. Pavel Alexandrovich, born in 1900, was married to Varvara Ivanovna Ryabova, and had two daughters: Claudia and Raisa. Like his wife, Pavel Ryabov worked at the plant (there is no information about the name of the plant and the position held). According to my grandmother's recollections, the family was considered well-off, since each daughter had her own personal nanny. Spouses Ryabova lived in city Vysokovsk, Moscow region. Also, according to my grandmother's memoirs, it is known that the family survived the short-term occupation of the city of Vysokovsk and the Klinsky district in 1941. However, for reasons I don't understand, my grandmother can't remember whether her own father was present during these circumstances. It is possible that he was a partisan for some time together with other men of his hometown. On January 10, 1942, Pavel Ryabov was drafted into the red army as an ordinary Rifleman. In the same year, in March, according to archival records, the book of Memory and post-war report number 53563 from 20.06.1946, he went missing. The family assumes that he, along with the train sent to the front, came under fire, as a result of which he died, but this information is based solely on family rumors. Unfortunately, our family does not have any information about his burial place and participation in major battles. Nevertheless, we remember this man as a dear participant of the great Patriotic war.
