Perov Vasily Alekseevich.
Infantry private soldier, home front worker. Born in 1923 in Uren District, Gorky (Nizhny Novgorod) Region. Drafted into the Army as part of the infantry. In one of the battles he got a shell-shock and was hospitalized. After the hospital he was discharged and sent to the home front, to a collective farm (kolkhoz) where he helped to provide food for our Army until the end of the war. On photo Vasily Alekseevich at a young age. Note: His twin brother, German, also fought in the war but went missing in action.

My great-great-grandfather.
On photo Gievsky Stepan Ilyich - my great-great-grandfather on my mother's side. He perished in 1943 and was buried in a mass grave in Kushchevskaya village, Krasnodar Krai (Krasnodar Territory).

My grandfather's uncle Zapolsky Vladimir Konstantinovich was conscripted on August 1, 1941, Leninsk (Asaka), Fergana Region, Uzbek SSR (Soviet Socialist Republic). Rank: Major of Engineering Troops. Place of service: 7th Guards Cavalry Corps of the 1st Belorussian Front. He went through the whole war, was responsible for the uninterrupted supply of fuel and lubricants and equipment output. During his service he was awarded the Order of the Red Star, the Orders of the Patriotic War 1st and 2nd classes and the Medal "For Battle Merit". He got to Berlin. After the war he left for Kuban and worked as a chief engineer in a transport enterprise. My grandfather Aleksandr treasures all the awards of his uncle Vova, and me and my family cherish the memory.
