Ivan Kolesnikov, born in 1917 in the Rubtsovsky District, Sergeant Major, 201st Separate Sapper Battalion
Ivan Kolesnikov, born in 1917 in the Rubtsovsky District, senior Sergeant of the 201st Separate Sapper Battalion of the 182nd Rifle Division. Went through the whole war. He participated in the battles for Leningrad, courageously performing his duty as a soldier, and was seriously wounded.
For military services in 1943, he was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War 1st degree (he with three other sappers installed 700 anti-personnel mines in one night), and in 1945, for courage, bravery and exemplary performance of the tasks of command, he was awarded the Order of the Red Star. The minesweeper makes a mistake once. My great-grandfather was not mistaken, he returned from the war to his wife and children, but eight years after the Victory in 1953, he died of tuberculosis.
