Ivan Vasiliev, born in 1921 in the village of Kortas-Ener, Morki district, was called up for active military service by the Morki Regional Military Commissariat of the Mari Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic on 24.01.1942. Completion of military service: - 225 ski reserve regiment, rifleman - 01.1942-07.1942; - was in captivity in Poland (Lenczyca) - 19.07.1942-20.01.1945; - 219 separate mine clearance detachment, engineer - 01.1945-05.1945; - 105 military construction detachment - worker of the Engineering Department #14, carpenter - 05.1946-07.1946. Demobilised on 30.08.1946 based on the Decree of the Presidium of the USSR Supreme Soviet dated 20.03.1946.
