Lyudmila was drafted into the army.
She served as a nurse in the 551st Airfield Service Battalion in the Central Asian Military District from 1941 to 1945. She finished the war with the rank of Specialist. Has government awards.
After her husband retired, they moved to Irkutsk. Lyudmila worked as a senior surgical nurse at the children's hospital in Ivano-Matreninskaya. She had to go to early retirement to care for her seriously ill husband. After his death, she went to live with her daughter to Bolshoy Severny, Mamsko-Chuysky District of the Irkutsk Region. She returned to Irkutsk together with her granddaughter Elena Tomilova in 1976. There she lived until 1995. She was buried next to her husband, at the Radishchevsky Cemetery in Irkutsk.
