Hecheev Bembya Mandzhievich
Hecheev Bembya Mandzhievich, was born in the village of Zeta, Svetloyarsk district, Volgograd region. In autumn 1938 he was drafted into the Red Army. He served in Mongolia. He showed himself in the army from the best side, so he was offered to study at the regimental school of commanders. After graduation, the guard lieutenant, the commander of the saber platoon of the 11th Guards Cavalry Sedletsk Red Banner Order of the Alexander Nevsky Regiment, goes to the front. He traveled many military roads, fought on the South, North Caucasian, Central and 1st Belorussian fronts. On April 30, 1945, Hecheev's unit was the first to cross the Hafallenditer Grosser-Haupt Canal, and from a small bridgehead skillfully ensured the crossing of the main forces of the regiment. Khecheev, at the head of his platoon, fearlessly advanced to the enemy's trenches and, by personal example, raised the fighters in a swift attack and was the first to break into the settlement, thereby managing to capture the enemy's stronghold covering the approaches to the city of Frizak. During these battles, the platoon of the guard of Lieutenant Khecheev destroyed up to 60 soldiers and officers, suppressed 10 firing points and took 13 enemy soldiers and officers prisoner. By the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of May 15, 1946, Bemba Mandzhievich Khecheev was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. Demobilized from the army, he came to his relatives in the Kosikhinsky district, Altai Territory and returned to peaceful work. In the Republic of Kalmykia, the streets of cities and towns are named after Bambi Mandzhievich Khecheev. In the Gorodovikovsky district in the village of Chapaevskoye, a monument to him was erected at the school.
