Back in 1940, he fought with the White Finns. 07/28/1941 was again drafted into the army. He served in the Far East, and on 23 August 1942 an order came to the front. The path lay on the Ukraine. In fierce battles near Zaporozhye, he was first wounded. 05/01/1943 soldier Asanov K.D .returned. from the hospital to the unit. And now the legendary Kursk Bulge ... "The most protracted and difficult battle was precisely on the Kursk Bulge. From July 4 to July 12 we fought in one place, and from August 1 we finally broke the enemy and went on the offensive. It was impossible to describe this all around. how many fought, and in such a hell have not yet been. From the explosions of shells, mines, from burning tanks, black smoke covered half the sky. The days, I remember, were clear, and the sun was not visible because of the smoke, so only a small speck. Above the planes, below tanks, artillery. There were episodes when the tankers were poured with water: summer, the tanks fought endlessly, and the heat was stifling in them. The barrels from the shooting heated to redness - it was fashionable to light a cigarette. The iron could not stand it, but people did it, "recalled my great-grandfather (an excerpt from a newspaper article dated 12.02.1985 No. 20 (332)). In these battles he wounded again - touched the knee. After the hospital, he again returned to the front line, to his 6th Guards Army. And again he looked into the eyes of death, kneaded the mud, went on the attack under heavy enemy fire. With battles, the army advanced to Poltava, from there it was transferred to Velikiye Luki, and then to Belarus. “They hated the Germans. And one desire was - to drive them out of their land and end the war as soon as possible. How much grief, blood, deaths the soldiers of the Great Patriotic War had to see. But it came for Asanov K.D. and the last fight. Under the station Yadritsy went on the attack to cut off the Nazis' escape route. The fight was fierce, here he was seriously wounded in the head. After a long treatment, my grandfather was sent home to Siberia. The soldier had not yet fully recovered from his injury, but had already joined the ranks of those who fought for Victory in the rear. He grew and collected bread for the front.
