Golubev-Kritzer Yakov Grigorievich
Golubev-Kritzer Yakov Grigoryevich was born in the village of Aleshki of the Kherson region. Name of the military enlistment office: Moscow. Date of conscription: July of 1941. Grade title: a colonel. Name of the military unit: the 272nd rifle division. Date of decommissioning: the 1st of June, 1973. He was in the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army since April 1919. He graduated from the Vutsik Kharkiv school of chervonny (red) commanding officers (1926), the department of physical education at the Leningrad higher military pedagogical school named after V. I. Lenin (1929), the intelligence department of the Red Army Intelligence Directorate in Moscow (1937), and the M. V. Frunze Military Academy (1941), faculty of correspondence studies of this Academy (1952). Before the service in the army Y. G. Golubev-Kritzer worked in a bakery of the city of Kherson. In the Civil war on the 15th of April, 1919, there in Kherson, he voluntarily joined the Red Army in the 3rd International rifle regiment and participated with it in the battles against the troops of general A. I. Denikin near Kherson and Nikolaev. From August to December 1919 due to a serious illness he was in the hospital. After recovery from March 1920 he served in the commandant's office of the city of Nikolaev. From August 1920 he fought with the white poles on the western front as part of the 90th rifle regiment of the 30th brigade of the 10th rifle division. He participated in the Warsaw offensive and in the defensive battles near Pinsk and in November 1920 fought with the armed detachments of general S. N.Bulak-Balakhovich near Mozyr. After the war from January 1921 he served as a red army soldier in the political department of the 6th army of the Southern front, then in the 151st rifle regiment of the 51st rifle division in the city of Odessa. From September 1923 he studied at the Kharkiv school of red commanding officers. After its completion from September 1926 he commanded a platoon in the 300th rifle regiment of the 100th rifle division in the city of Berdichev. From November 1928 to August 1929 he studied at the department of physical education at the Leningrad higher military pedagogical school named after V. I. Lenin. Upon returning to the regiment he took command of a rifle platoon, then a platoon of the regimental school and a rifle troop. From June 1933 he served as a physical training instructor of the 90th rifle division in the city of Zhytomyr and from March 1935 he was assistant chief of staff of the 286th rifle regiment of the same division. From March to November 1937 he attended the advanced training course for intelligence officers at the Intelligence Directorate of the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army in Moscow, after which he was appointed chief of staff of the 287th rifle regiment. From June 1939 he attended the Military Academy of the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army named after M. V. Frunze. At the beginning of the Great Patriotic war in July 1941 major Ya. G. Golubev-Kritzer was released from the Academy and appointed chief of staff of the 272nd rifle division formed in the Tikhvin district. On the 4th of August the division arrived at the Northern front in the 7th army and fought in the Petrozavodsk direction. Since October a part of the division used to fight in the Onega-Svir sector, and another part - near Tikhvin. From March 1942 lieutenant colonel Ya. G. Golubev-Kritzer served as chief of staff of the 114th rifle division in the 7th separate army. He “personally worked on strengthening the line of defense, gave timely instructions and eliminated shortcomings in the work of the headquarters of the units and their operational activities” during the defensive and offensive battles along the Svir river to the west from the settlement of Oshta. In September 1942 he was appointed chief of staff of the 4th rifle corps (from February 1944 - as part of the Karelian front) which led defensive battles on the Svir river line on a front up to 350 km. In the summer of 1944 he participated with it in the Svir-Petrozavodsk operation. From the 12th of November till the 30th of December, 1944, Golubev-Kritzer temporarily commanded this corps which was at that time in the reserve of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief headquarters, and then as part of the Belomorsky military district. In January 1945 he assumed the duties of chief of staff of the corps. After the war colonel Ya. G. Golubev-Kritzer continued to serve in the same corps. On the 11th of July, 1946, he was appointed chief of operations – deputy chief of staff of the 79th guard rifle corps of Stalin's Siberian corps. In September of the same year he was seconded to the Frunze Military Academy for use in teaching. Since October he served as a teacher of operational and tactical training –the tactical head of the 2nd year, since October 1949 – a senior teacher of the department of general tactics. On the 14th of October, 1955, he was dismissed to the reserve. Awarded the order of Lenin, three orders of the Red Banner and medals.
