Matrosov Semyon Stepanovich was born on 02.08.1919 in Ulemets village, Zhizdrinsky District, Kaluga Region. From October 1939 to October 1941 - shooter of the 197th rifle regiment of the Pacific Fleet; then until January 1943 - the shooter of the 62nd separate naval rifle brigade; until April 1943 - gunner of the DShK machine gun of the 52nd artillery mortar regiment as part of the 62nd separate the Red Banner Marine Rifle Brigade. From October 1943 to November 1945 - the gunner of the 38th Air Defense Forces as part of the 17th Guards Cavalry Mozyr, the Order of Lenin, the Red Banner, the Orders of Suvorov, Kutuzov Division.
