Balashov Alexander Vasilyevich was born in 1900 (no date and month known). Drafted to the front in December 1942 from Polyana village. He went through the whole war as an ordinary soldier, was wounded by a grenade fragment in the thigh and lived with a splinter all his life. He was awarded of the Order of the Red Star, there were more awards, but what is unknown. He died on February 2, 1974, and was buried at the Polyanovskoye cemetery, Polyana village, Yurinsky district, Republic of Mari El.
