The photo shows my great-grandfather Grigory Ivanovich Pozhidaev, was born in Khlevnoe village on April 15, 1917. He was called up for military service on August 1, 1941. He went through the whole war and reached Berlin, signed on the Reichstag building. He received a contusion (in the spine) in 04/15/1942. Military rank: Sergeant. He returned from the front in 1946. He was awarded of medals "For Combat Service", "For Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945", "For the Capture of Berlin" and the Order of the Patriotic War, Second class. After the war he worked as a police officer of Khlevensky district. He died on November 27, 1993.
