Sergei Petrovich was born on 10/12/1924. in the large family of Peter Ivanovich and Ekaterina Alekseevna Pirogovs. Place of residence is Pokrovskoe village, Krasno-Pakhorsky district, Moscow region. At the age of eighteen, Sergei is called up to the front of the Krasno-Pakhor regional military comissariat on 07/05/1942. Since that time, he was enlisted as a private in the 39th Army of the 881st Infantry Order of the Alexander Nevsky Regiment, 158th Rifle Division of the Kalinin Front, military unit / field mail of the 881st Rifle Regiment - No. 16655. In a short time, during 1943, he was twice awarded of medals. Medal "For Combat Service" 04/29/1943. Sergey was posthumously awarded of the Medal "For Courage".
