Bugaev Alexander Lavrentyevich, the Hero of the Soviet Union On July 3, 1943, Bugaev Alexander was mobilized into the ranks of the Red Army, In December 1943 he graduated from the military engineering school. In three years he was sent to the second Belorussian front and appointed commander of a sapper platoon of the 343rd separate sapper battalion. He was awarded of the title of Hero of the Soviet Union for the feat, selfless actions during the crossing of the Narew River in Poland by the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 24, 1945.
