A seventeen-year-old boy decided to master military skills. During the crossing of the Radomka river near Staluvka village 27.08.1944 the units overcame the water line with fights. Dmitry Alekseevich was the first to reach the opposite bank. Together with his comrades he destroyed German firing points and killed at least 10 enemy soldiers and officers. For this he was awarded the Order of Glory 3rd class. After the war he continued to serve in the Armed Forces of the USSR. In 1950 D. A. Morozov was transferred to the reserve.
