Evdokia Ilyinichna Svetankova (Koshkarina)

Evdokia Ilyinichna Koshkarina-Svetankova, born in the village of Klyuchevo, was a teacher. Then graduated from Medical Academy in Gorkiy. In August 1941, the front-line hospital, where Doctor Dusya Svetankova worked, was surrounded by enemy. They made their way from encirclement with a group of soldiers and officers for about 2 months. In the village of Navlya in Bryansk region, which was occupied by Germans, Evdokia entered the confidence of the Germans and opened the hospital. Soviet guerrilla fighters were treated there secretly along with Germans. Gestapo learned about it. Doctor Evdokia was tortured and finally murded. E.I. Svetankova - Koshkarina was posthumously awarded Order of Patriotic War, 1st class.
