Samylov Nikolai Vasilyevich was born in 1913 in the city of Vyatka (Kirov), drafted into the ranks of the Red Army in October 1936, from June 1941 to May 1945 fought on the North-Western and 2nd Ukrainian fronts in artillery units, took part in defense of Kremenchug, in hostilities in Romania and Hungary. He retired with the rank of major in 1957. He was awarded the Order of the Red Star of the 2nd degree, the Order of the Patriotic War of the 2nd degree, the medal "For Military Merit".
