Bochkov Ivan Vasilievich, captain. Born on September 17, 1915 in a peasant family. From the beginning of the war to February 1943, he flew 308 sorties, conducted 45 air battles, during which he personally shot down 7 and, together with his comrades, 32 enemy aircraft. On April 4, 1943, he died in an air battle, having won his last victory. On May 1, 1943, he was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union for his courage and military valor displayed in battles with enemies.
