Gennady Georgievich Syreishchikov made his main feat on the famous Borodino field. A pair of MiG-3 that flew to intercept the fascist side overtook the Junkers and fired at. However, the German stubbornly followed the front line. Syreishchikov made a decision to ram: having approached, the pilot cut off the tail unit of the Junkers with the propeller of his plane. As a result, the enemy aircraft crashed to the ground a few kilometers from the village of Borodino. However, the Mig-3 also lost control and the pilot had to jump with a parachute. The hero landed safely near the wreckage of the Ju-88. An army photojournalist managed to take a photo of Syreishchikov against the background of the downed plane.
