Nikolay Trifonovich Makov. Born in 1921 in Lop-Sola village. Studied at the Verh- Ushut and Kuzhener schools. The day Germany attacked our country he served in the Red Army. He went into battle with the Nazis in Belarus. Together with 13 soldiers, he left the encirclement. During 19 months of being behind enemy lines, he was caught four times and escaped from the concentration camp four times. In Belarus and in the Smolensk region, he distributed leaflets among the population temporarily falling into the hands of the Germans. Since the spring of 1943, he fought as part of his native army. He received three wounds. Awarded with medals: "For service in battle", "For the capture of Konigsberg" and thanks.
