Konyakhin Alexander Romanovich - Hero of the Soviet Union

Alexander Romanovich Konyakhin, Lieutenant, T-34 Tank Platoon Commander, 306th Tank Battalion, 53rd Guards of the Order of Lenin of the Red Banner Order of Suvorov and Bogdan Khmelnitsky Tank Brigade. In 1942 he graduated from the Kazan Tank School and was left here as a platoon commander. From September 1943 until the victory over Germany he fought on the Voronezh, Steppe and 1st Ukrainian Fronts, took part in the Battle of Kursk and in the liberation of Ukraine, Romania and Hungary. Wounded three times. He was awarded the Order of Patriotic War of the 2nd degree. The title of Hero of the Soviet Union was awarded to A.R. Konyakhin on June 3, 1944 for bravery and courage displayed during the forcing of the Dnieper River.
