With the beginning of the Great Patriotic War he was drafted into the army, into the 354th Division. He fought on the 3rd Belorussian Front, near Moscow. At Mozhaisk he was surrounded, after leaving the encirclement, he fought again at the Belarusian front. He fought in the Smolensk region, before Königsberg. Military specialty - sapper. While guiding the crossings, he was wounded twice. Awards: Order of the Red Banner, Order of the Patriotic War, 1st and 2nd degree. Medal for courage, medal for the capture of Koenigsberg.He ended the war in
