Yakovlev Nikolay Spiridonovich

Yakovlev Nikolay Spiridonovich Born in 1912 in Kotlyarevskaya station. He graduated 5 classes, worked as a mechanic at the Leskensky plywood factory. In the ranks of the Red Army he served from 1932 to 1946. Member of the Komsomol since 1932. He joined the CPSU in 1943. Served in the 18th Army, 65th Army with the rank of sergeant first class. Then, in the rank of First lieutenant, he commanded a machine-gun company. He liberated Novorossiysk, Sevastopol, as well as Crimea. For participating in battles in the Crimea he was awarded of the Order of the Red Star, Patriotic War 1st class. The award list for the Order of the Red Star: “The sergeant first class crossed the Sivash ford. During the crossing, sergeant first class Yakovlev moved the machines on his shoulders.
