He enlisted in the red Army and went to the front as a private. My great-grandfather was a miner of the engineering and mining company of the 37th mechanical brigade. On the site "MEMORY of the PEOPLE" we found materials on his military path, as well as award lists with the exploits of Roman's great-grandfather. I would like to tell you about them briefly: 1.) the First feat: "on the night of September 20, 1943, under enemy fire, comrade Davydkin worked with an axe to build a bridge over the river. Thanks to the dedicated work of comrade Davydkin, the tanks were transported across the river on time, which did not allow the enemy to gain a foothold on the opposite Bank. Worthy of the government award of the medal "for bravery!" 2.) SECOND FEAT: "on DECEMBER 18, 1943, RISKING his LIFE, he SET a MINEFIELD 250 METERS FROM the ENEMY. During the German attack on this field, a T4 tank and two armored personnel carriers with infantry were blown up. The enemy's attack was thwarted! On the combat account of comrade Davydkin there are 45 personally defused enemy mines. He had three children: sons Ivan and Nikolai and a daughter Anna (this is my grandmother, who is now 83 years old (30.10.1936) and lives in the city of Korolev). My great-grandfather died in 1980.
