Photo shows Nikolai Pavlovich Tsyganok, Senior Sergeant. Before the war, the Tsygankovs lived in the village of Golodaevo, Voroshilovgrad region. When the war began, Pavel Fedotovich's father was drafted. In autumn war approached the village, the family was evacuated to Saratov region. In 1942 the eldest son Kolya turned 16. He was sent to city of Ulyanovsk to a tank school. After graduation he went to front. He took part in Berlin operation. He was awarded Order of Red Star and Order of Patriotic War, II class (posthumously). KIA on April 20, 1945. He sent photo to his father from tank school.
