Cherevaty Vasily Ivanovich was born in the village of Golodaevo, Starobelsky district, Voroshilovgrad region. In 1941, with his parents and sisters, he was evacuated to the village of Baskatovka. In 1943 he was drafted into the ranks of the Red Army, served as a mortarman in the 101st Guards Rifle Division. 3 short letters - all that remain with loved ones in memory of their son and brother. On March 19, 1945, twenty-year-old Vasily Cherevaty went missing in Poland.

Sergeant, disappeared in December 1941. "For many years he was considered dead, did not make himself felt for a long time, showed up only in the 1960s and 1970s. Was in captivity. After captivity, he was exiled to Siberia in Sverdlovsk.After his release, he lived in the city of Turinsk, Sverdlovsk Region and died on August 21, 1994.
