Yagodarov Ilya Vasilievich, participant of the Great Patriotic War
Yagodarov Ilya Vasilievich, participant of the Great Patriotic War. Private Soldier. Drafted into the Army in 1940. Got to the war on the front line. He was wounded and captured. Escaped from a concentration camp while unloading coal cars: "I buried myself in the coals and thus managed to escape". He fought as a tankman. His tank burned and he was captured again. Later he was released by the Americans. He returned to his Homeland in 1946. Immediately in the Military Commissariat he was sentenced to 10 years as a high traitor to his Motherland, an alleged "Vlasovite" (Vlasov Liberation Army). He returned home from the Stalinist camp in 1956 having served 10 years there. He passed away on December 25, 1985. Repressed, restored after death as a participant of the war.
