Kravtsov Vasiliy Nikolaevich
Troops: Artillery. Vasily Nikolaevich was born on March 28, 1925 in the village of Pogromets, Volokonovsky district, Belgorod region in a large peasant family with 13 children. After graduating from 6 grade, he went to work, because he had to help his parents. In June 1941, Volokonov District Executive Committee sent him to Leningrad to the plant Krasny Vyborzhets, where he worked on a mechanical hammer, digging anti-tank ditches. In August 1941 he returned to the village Pogromets. He got to the front in 1943 when he was 18 years old. Together with inexperienced peers, who had no military training, he was abandoned to pursue the enemy. Near Kharkov, Vasily Nikolaevich was wounded and was taken to hospital. He was then sent to the first Baltic front. Kravtsov Vasily Nikolaevich - a member of the defense of Leningrad, participated in the battles on the outskirts of the city of Pskov, liberated Belarus and Latvia. He received the second wound at Ladoga. After the hospital - the Second Baltic Front. In March 1945, on the outskirts of the city of Liepaja, he was seriously wounded. He was treated in Riga, and then sent to the Leningrad hospital, where he welcomed Victory. In October 1945, Vasiliy Nikolaevich was demobilized and returned to his native village Pogromec. Here he continued his labor activity. He restored his native collective farm "Krasny Put", worked as a private servant, electrician, from 1966 to 1997 - as a storekeeper. The total working experience of Vasily Nikolaevich is 54 years. He left for a well-deserved rest at 73. With his wife, Anna Grigorievna, he lived in peace and harmony for 57 years. Vasily Nikolaevich was awarded the Order of Patriotic War of II degree, Zhukov medal, "For military merits", "For the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945", anniversary medals and in a peaceful time "For labor valor", "Veteran of work". Kravtsov V.N. takes an active part in public life of the rural district, is engaged in patriotic education of youth. He is a frequent guest in high school, rural House of Culture.
