STORY: Pyotr Lukyanovich Pavlenko was born in 1926 in the village of Krasnoe in the Veydelevsky district (now Alekseyevsky district) of the Belgorod region in the family of a shoemaker. When he was three years old, they moved to the farm of Kronstadt. He grew up there and completed five classes and a tractor driver's course. In 1942, Pyotr Lukyanovich turned 16 and volunteered for the front. He fought in the rifle regiment No. 968 until 1944. Then he was transferred to another regiment, No. 970, in which he fought until the end of the war. From August 9, 1945, he took part in military operations with Japan. He was promoted to Sergeant. He retired to the reserve in 1950 as a commander of the rifle division. When he returned home, he got married. Moved to the village Zhabsky Roven district. Raised three sons, married them. Helped raise five grandchildren. He died in September 2006.
