Rank: Lieutenant. Branch of service: army, air force (except marine aviation), the coast guard, the troops of the NKVD border troops. Unit: 1st guards rifle division. From August 1941 to February 1942, he was a private in the 85th rifle regiment of the 100th rifle division, Western front. Participated in the battle of Yelnya. From February to may 1942, he was treated in the evacuation hospital. From may to September 1942, he was a cadet in the district advanced training courses for the red Army airborne troops. From September 1942 to January 1943, he was the commander of the PTR 211 company of the guards Airborne brigade. From January to June 1943-commander of a company of PTR 9 rifle regiment, 4 guards division (air assault). From June 1943 to January 1944-commander of the PTR company 16 of the guards airborne brigade. From January to September 1944, he was commander of the PTR 106 company of the guards, fighter, and anti-tank division of the 99th rifle division. From September 1944 to January 1945, he was commander of the PTR company of the 13th guards airborne brigade. From January to March 1945, he was a reserve officer of the 53rd separate regiment of officers of the MVO. From March to may 1945, he was a reserve officer of the 49th separate regiment. From may to September 1945-assistant to the head of the accounting Department of camp 224, for the repatriation of Soviet citizens. From September to November 1945-assistant to the head of the accounting Department of camp 227, for the repatriation of Soviet citizens. From November to December 1945-commander of a company of PTR 27 separate regiment, reserve officers, group of Soviet occupation forces in Germany.
