In 1935 he graduated from 9 classes of the Verkhovskaya Secondary School in parallel, he studied in absentia at the Oryol Financial and Economic College. On October 10, 1939, he was drafted into the Red Army and sent to the city of Blagoveshchensk to serve in 12th Rifle Division of 214th Rifle Regiment with the rank of Private. In 1940 he was enlisted as a Cadet at the Khabarovsk Infantry School. He graduated from the school with the second grade and was immediately sent to the Volga Military District as Commander of a machine-gun company 1152 Rifle Regiment of 344 Rifle Division. In December 1941, he was appointed Commander of the 3rd Rifle Battalion 1152 Suvorov Regiment 344 Suvorov Division. The division joined the Western Front, where for the first time on 10/01/1942, Pyotr Prokofievich fought with a Battalion. He commanded the Battalion until May 1942, and during this time he was twice wounded and awarded the Order of the Red Banner for "excellent and skillful repulsing of massive attacks by enemy tanks and infantry", and was also appointed Commander of the Tarining Battalion 344 Suvorov Division. In October 1942, Pyotr Prokofievich was appointed Deputy Commander 1152 Suvorov Regiment. 344 Suvorov Division, and in the last days of December 1942 he was appointed Commander of 303 Suvorov Regiment 69 Suvorov Division. In September 1944, due to a severe injury, Pyotr Prokofievich left for the hospital for treatment in the city of Chkalov, where he lay until December 1944. After recovery, he was sent to 65th Army and until March 1945 he commanded 95th formation of 193 Suvorov Division. In March 1945 he was appointed Commander of 130th Guards Suvorov Regiment of 44th Guards Suvorov Division. _x000D_ Pyotr Prokofievich finished the war in the area of the city of Rostock. In December 1945 he was appointed Deputy Commander of 75 Guards Suvorov Regiment 26 Guards Suvorov Division. Subsequently, Pyotr continued to serve in the ranks of the Armed Forces.
