Alexander Pavlovich Miklyaev was born on December 20, 1921 in Michurinsk, Tambov Region. Graduated from 8 classes. He was called up on 06.07.1940 by Michurinsky Military Commissariat of the Tambov Region in the rank of Sergeant of the position of mechanic driver. He served in the 144th Brigade, a Division of the 448th Battalion, 3rd Company. _x000D_ He had been participant of the Great Patriotic War since June 1942 on the Western, Kalinin, Steppe and 2nd Ukrainian fronts. He took part in the battle of Kursk 05.07.1943-23.08.1943, liberated Ukraine, Romania, Hungary and the Czech Republic from the enemy. He finished the war near Prague on 11.05.1945. On August 20, 1944, during the breakthrough of the heavily fortified enemy defenses in the area of Height 177. _x000D_ The crew of the T-34 tank destroyed 1 cannon, 1 bunker and 25 enemy soldiers and officers. For exemplary performance of combat missions on the front against the German invaders and for the courage and bravery shown in this case, Comrade A. P. Miklyaev was awarded the state award of the Order of Glory, 3rd degree. _x000D_ Comrade Miklyaev especially distinguished himself in the battles for the liberation of the city of Truda. Under enemy artillery fire on the battlefield 8.10.1944 he eliminated damage to the tank engine and continued the pursuit. His tank was the first to break into the village of Touren on 11.10.1944, where the tracks of his tank crushed a gun, a machine gun and 12 enemy soldiers. In the battles for Cluj, comrade Miklyaev obeyed the orders of the command in an exemplary manner, and was among the first to break into Cluj on 11.10.1944 and continue his constant pursuit. In the battles for the possession of Abon, comrade Miklyaev acted exceptionally boldly and bravely, overcame marshy places on the approaches to Abon. On 5.11.1944 he was among the first to cut the railway and shosse Abon-Salnok. As part of the crew, he destroyed: 2 cannons, 3 machine guns, a mortar and 20 enemy infantry men. _x000D_ For this feat, comrade Miklyaev was awarded the state award of the order of the Patriotic War of the 2nd degree. During participation in combat operations, he was twice wounded. Awards: Order of Glory, 3rd degree; Order of the Patriotic War, 2nd degree, Order of the Patriotic War, 1st degree, medal “For the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945”._x000D_ He was discharged from the reserve on November 20, 1945, with the rank of Guards Senior Sergeant. After demobilization, he worked on the Michurinsk railway until his retirement in 1980. He was married and had two daughters and three grandchildren. He passed away in November 1998.
