Ibragim Magometovich Dzusov-Soviet military leader, military pilot, major General of the Soviet Army, participant of the great Patriotic war, Hero of the Soviet Union. Ibragim Dzusov was born on March 3 (new style - 16), 1905 in the village of Zamankul (now-the right Bank district of North Ossetia) in a peasant family. He graduated from Junior high school, then entered the Communist University of the workers of the East named after I. V. Stalin in Moscow. In March 1924, Dzusov was called up to serve in the Workers 'and peasants' Red Army. In 1927, he graduated from the North Caucasus cavalry school of mountain nationalities. From October 1927, he served in the air force. In 1929, he graduated from the 3rd Orenburg military school of pilots and observer pilots. He served in various flight positions in the Ukrainian and Transcaucasian military districts. In 1941, he graduated from the Zhukovsky air Force Academy. Since January 1942, he served on the fronts of the great Patriotic war. He took part in the battles on the Crimean, North Caucasus, southern, 4th Ukrainian, 1st Belorussian fronts. He commanded the 100th guards fighter air regiment, the 9th guards fighter air division, which under his command became the guards; and from may 1944 , the 6th fighter air corps of the 16th air army. By may 1945 the pilots of his body in aerial combat shot down a total of 832 enemy aircraft. He lived in the city of Ordzhonikidze (now-Vladikavkaz), was on administrative and economic work. In 1965, he retired and was engaged in public activities. He died on October 28, 1980, and was buried in the Pantheon of the Ossetian Church in Vladikavkaz. He was awarded three orders of Lenin, three orders of the red banner, two orders of Suvorov 2nd class, a number of medals, and the Polish order of the Cross of Grunwald. Streets in Vladikavkaz and Zamankul, as well as a secondary school, are named after Dzusov.
