Noticing the abilities of the young military officer, the district administration recommended him to serve in the police, and soon he became the operational Commissioner of the Industrial police Department of Vladikavkaz. Astemir's cherished dream was to get a higher legal education, and in 1946 he entered the Saratov law Institute.
