He was born in 1911 in the village of Sasovo, Tambov province. He graduated from the faculty of workers and worked in the mines of the city of Donskoy (Tula region). He studied in Moscow since 1933, and then worked in the “NKVD”. He was sent to Odessa in July 1941, where he headed the reconnaissance and sabotage work. He was taken prisoner by the Nazis in February 1942. He was shot after cruel torture on July 12, 1942. He was posthumously awarded with the title of Hero of the Soviet Union on November 5, 1944. In the name of V.A. Molodtsov named the street, the House of Culture and the central stadium in the city of Donskoy. One of the streets of Odessa is also named after the hero.
