Rakhmatullin Sabirzhan Shakirovich_x000D_ _x000D_ My grandfather Rakhmatullin Sabirzhan Shakirovich was born on January 09, 1926 in the village of Novaya Kulatka, Starokulatkinsky district, Ulyanovsk region. My grandfather was drafted into the army in the fall of 1943 and entered the 21st air training Regiment as a cadet, where he trained until May 1944. Later he was sent to the 51st separate air ambulance company v/h 12815 (2nd Ukrainian front), where he served until September 1945. He took part in the liberation of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, and also participated in the capture of Konigsberg. He was discharged from the army in June 1950. His battle path is indicated by his awards. So, for exemplary performance of combat tasks at the front in the fight against the German invaders, by Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, he was awarded the order of the Patriotic War of II degree, the medal for the capture of Konigsberg, the medal for military merit, the Zhukov medal and jubilee awards. My grandfather was awarded the medal "for the capture of Konigsberg" for his direct participation in the heroic assault and capture of the fortress city of Konigsberg in the period January 23-April 10, 1945. After the end of the war, my grandfather returned to his native village, where he worked as a driver. For conscientious and long-term work, my grandfather was awarded the "veteran of labor" medal. On the days of the great Victory day, grandfather tells us about the historical events of the great Patriotic war, remembers his commanders and colleagues, and tearfully wishes that we did not know what war is. About his participation in military operations (the Baltic operation) in the liberation of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia and the capture of Konigsberg (the East Prussian operation) remembers reluctantly and does not talk about the war times experienced, just says that in our life there was no war, and you do not know what war is!
