Branch of troops: Land forces, air forces (except naval aviation), coast guard, NKVD troops, border guards). Vasily Boldyrev was born in the village of Novozavedennoye, in February of 1921, on the Pancake week, but the date of his birth was mentioned in archives as June 21st. He studied at school with great pleasure and desire, and was considered to be the best student. The tall, slender, curly-haired brunet sang well, played the balalaika virtuosically, and was the soul of the school parties. From a young age, Vasily helped his father around the house, working with him in the field, since there were enough things to do at home: the family had many childrenand he, as the oldest, had to work in the garden and manage the household. After completing seven years of school education, Vasily Boldyrev went to the city of Stavropol, where he entered the faculty of foreign languages at the pedagogical university. In September of 1940, a 3rd-year student was drafted into the army from the city of Stavropol. Vasily Boldyrev became a sailor in the city of Sevastopol at the Black sea. He served at the 2 OAD main base of the Black sea fleet as signalman of the coast guard. But a peaceful and happy life was interrupted by the war. From its first days, the Black sea sailors heroically defended their beloved city and the Motherland. Nazi attacks were choked one after another! The sailors showed miracles of bravery and military valor. They didn't think about food, but they were thirsty and had to quench their thirst with salt water from the sea. Together with his comrades, Vasily Boldyrev protected the withdrawal of military units from the heroic city of Sevastopol, was wounded in the arm, and lived with a bullet all his life. 3.07 1942, according to the command, Boldyrev Vasily Pavlovich went missing. According to the memoirs of his great-grandfather, he had to swim across the Bay. Wounded, he was taken a prisoner. Soviet prisoners of war were driven by the Nazis to the city of Shepetovka in Ukraine. So Vasily was kept in a prison camp there. Then he and several of his companions managed to escape. Later, he ended up in a partisan unit on the territory of Yugoslavia. After the war, due to the prevailing circumstances, as well as the government's distrust to former prisoners of war, he was sent to a labor camp in the Irkutsk region, where he was without the right to correspond until 1955. Vasily Pavlovich lived and worked in the village of Chuna. In Irkutsk, he graduated with honors from the forest technical school. In 1955 he was rehabilitated. That is why his relatives were able to see Vasily only 15 years later, since he was for all this long time considered as missing. In 1965, he moved with his family to the city of Ordzhonikidze in North Ossetia, there Vasily Pavlovich worked as a master and teacher in a specialized children's institution. Father of Vasily Pavlovich - Pavel Semyonovich Boldyrev - took part in liberation of the city of Sevastopol from the Nazis. V. P. Boldyrev passed away in 1997, at the age of 76. His grandson - Oleg Pavlovich Boldyrev - lives in the city of Sevastopol and is serving in the marine corps. He serves at the very same place where the 35th battery fought during the Great Patriotic war, and his great-grandfather defended his native Sevastopol. The name of Vasily Boldyrev is immortalized on the memorial Pantheon of Glory as one of the defenders of Sevastopol.

Rank: Junior Sergeant. Branch of troops: land forces, air forces (except marine aviation), the coast guard, the troops of the NKVD, borderguard troops. Division: 170th Rechitskaya Red Banner rifle division of the order of Suvorov. My grandfather, Grigory Petrovich Bukaev, went to war in 1942. He had a leg injury that is why he was not called up, but he joined armed forces as a volunteer. Unfortunately, my grandmother – his wife – is no longer there, and I collected memories of my grandfather literally bit by bit. My grandfather fought in the 170th rifle division of the 2nd formation. The division was formed in the Molotov region at the end of 1941 and in April of 1942 was sent to the North-Western front. From May 1942 to March 1943, my grandfather participated in the Demyansk offensive. In February 1942, near the city of Demyansk, Novgorod region, for the first time in the history of the Great Patriotic war, a large group of enemy troops was surrounded. In April 1942, the enemy managed to break through the encirclement ring. So the Demyansk bridgehead of the enemy was formed. The front line resembled a jug with a bottle – "ramasheuski corridor" (the name of the village). My grandfather participated in the liquidation of the Demyansk bridgehead. Unfortunately, the offensive operation in the forests and swamps of the Novgorod region did not develop too successfully and quickly for our troops. In May-June 1942, my grandfather participated within the division in the battles against nazi enemy in the area of the village of Mirokhny, Khilkovo, Kirilovshchina. In July of 1942, Bukaev`s division was transferred to the "ramushevsky corridor", and it participated in the battles next to village Vasilievshina and Byakovo against the German SS unit "Totenkopf" and the Danish corps "Danmark". During the fighting, the corridor was narrowed to 2 km. In August of 1942 once again fighting resumed at the area of the village Vasilievshina. In September-October 1942, my grandfather participated in the battles for the capture of the Knevitsy-Lychkovo railway as part of the 170sd. During the fighting, they broke through the enemy's defenses in the area of the Knevitsy station, searched for and terminated nazi among the forests to the South-West of Knewitz. In November 1942-January 1943, Bukaev participated in the heaviest battles next to the area of villages Obino and Savkino. In February 1943, the division was transferred to Staraya Russa. At the end of February 1943, soviet troops occupied Demyansk, and the bridgehead ceased to exist. At the end of February, the 422nd rifle regiment, in which my grandfather fought, was ordered to clear the Northern part of the grove opposite the villages of Kotovo and Chirikovo, from which our units were constantly being shelled. For 7 days, the regiment fought the hardest battles to capture the grove, losing up to 90% of its personnel. In one of the battles on March 1st, 1943, my grandfather-the squad commander, Junior Sergeant Grigory Petrovich Bukaev - died a death of the brave. The grandfather and his dead fellow soldiers were buried in the forest at the distance of about 3 km to ther East of village Kotovo, Starorussky district of Novgorod region, on the right Bank of the Porus river. In 1969, the remains of the soldiers from the burial place at the Kotovo village were reburied in the village of Marfino, Starorussky district. At the moment, my grandfather's name is inscribed on the memorial plates at the mass grave near the village of Marfino.

Rank: Senior Lieutenant of National Security Forces (GB). Branch of troops: the Troops of the NKVD and NKGB (except border guards). Division: 295th Red banner Kherson rifle division of the Order of Lenin and Suvorov orders. Alexey Nikolaevich Borzykh was called up for military service in February 1940. Alexey served far from his native Trubchevsk, but wrote home often. In May 1941, for his excellent service, he was awarded with a short leave of absence. "Marusya",- Alexey writes to his wife to share his joy with her, "we are going to meet soon. I look forward to seeing you." But they were not destined to meet then nor in the next five years. The Great Patriotic war began. Soon A. N. Borzykh became a scout and fought within the Fifth Attack army, which was commanded by Colonel-General N. E. Berzarin. The soldiers of this army especially distinguished themselves in the Iasski-Kishinev, Visla-Oder and Berlin operations. Berzarin's troops were the first to break into the capital of Nazi Germany – Berlin. General Berzarin was appointed the first Soviet military commandant of the city of Berlin. The 5th Attack Army soldiers did a lot to ensure proper order and establish normal life in the city. In early June, A. N. Borzykh received a patrol order for Berlin as part of the allied group. When the soldiers came out of the entrance of the commandant's office, a military photojournalist suddenly approached them and made quite a few pictures because this group of four souldiers looked so colorful against the background of the impressive building of the military commandant's office. Subsequently, this picture was published more than once in various albums. When Marshal G. K. Zhukov was to select a picture which reflects the Alliance of the great powers from many hundreds of such photographs about the war offered to him, he stopped his choise on this very picture as well and it was included in the book "Memories and reflections". Each reader of the very first books of memoirs of military leaders, paid attention to this photo, especially to the smiling Soviet soldier surrounded by French, English and American soldiers.... Alexey Nikolaevich returned home at the end of February 1946 with the rank of Lieutenant. Luck was with him: he was both wounded and shell-shocked, but quickly recovered. Important to mention that Alexey was famous for outstanding personal bravery. And Homeland appreciated his courage and bravery with due respect - Alexey was awarded with the orders of the Red Banner, Red Star, Patriotic War of the 1st degree and a medal "For courage". After the Great Patriotic War Alexey was so happy to live with grandma Masha, but unfortunatelly it was not for a long time. Injuries and concussion left their heavy mark: Alexey Nikolaevich's health became worse and worse. He passed away in April 1949. He was just 30 years old at the time.

Rank: Red Army Common Soldier. Branch of troops: armored and mechanized troops. Division: 32nd Red Banner rifle division. This year, Nikolai Gruzdev, a participant in the great Patriotic war, would have been 94 years old, of which 73 are listed as missing. The assistant platoon commander, Sergeant Nikolai Gruzdev was born in 1923 in the village of Grozdevo Elabuga district. According to the Central archive of the Ministry of Defense in Podolsk, Gruzdev was called up for military service by Elabuga RVC in May of 1942, but according to Elabuga military men it was on the 11th of June 11, 1942 when Gruzdev had joined the team of recruits available to the 18-th spare rifle brigade in Izhevsk. Twice wounded. Before his first injury in 1943, Nikolai Gruzdev was a tankman in the 242nd tank brigade. According to the Leningrad archive of military medical documents, "on July 8, 1943, he received a tangential shrapnel wound to the right cheek in the area of the zygomatic bone without damage to the bone; blind shrapnel wound to the right eyeball and because of that from July 10, 1943 Gruzdev was on treatment in APG 2734 which he left on July 27, 1943 for further treatment. Note on surgery (date not specified): removal of a fragment from the cornea of the right eye." On February 27, 1944, he joined the 17th rifle regiment of the 32nd rifle division. "In the book of records of private and non-commissioned officers of 17 company of the 32nd rifle division for 1944-1945, it appears that for the battle on June 23, 1944, Sergeant Nikolai Gruzdev received an award and was wounded on the same day. It is known that the regiment in which he fought was served by the fourth medical and sanitary battalion, but Nikolai Sergeyevich is not listed in the documents on the registration of the dead soldiers for 1944" (TSAMO, op. 307123s, d.2, page 63). It is obvious that he was not delivered to the medical unit of his army regiment. According to the same Central archive of the Ministry of Defense, Nikolai Gruzdev went missing in August 1944. It turns out that the injury was not serious, and he continued to fight? After all, a report on the loss of a soldier is made after he is not in the location of the military unit for 14 days. Or perhaps they didn't pick him up when he was wounded? Be that as it may, but he was in the unit until August, otherwise he would have been considered missing in early July. It’s a riddle... Nikolai Gruzdev was awarded twice: - the medal "for Military Merit" was awarded by order on May 1, 1944 "for excellent assimilation of combat and political training and transfer of experience and knowledge to the soldiers of his unit" to the commander of the 6th rifle company. - the medal " for bravery "(decreed on September 5th, 1944) was not awarded. By the way, it was awarded to the “Sergeant, assistant platoon commander of the 6th rifle company Nikolai Gruzdev for crossing the Pronya river near the village of Zastenki-Zalezhye, Mogilev region, in an offensive battle on June 23, 1944. He was the first to break into the enemy's trench, where he personally destroyed four German soldiers. The platoon destroyed up to 18 German soldiers and officers." It is known that the 32nd rifle division took part in the battles in Belarus until July 12, 1944, and then was transferred to Lithuania. According to reports, the division was fighting in Vilkaviskis and Marijampolė (modern name) areas of Lithuania. According to reports, you can determine the places of departure of soldiers: June-Mogilev region, July 7-8-the transition from Mogilev to Minsk region, from July 20-22 – Lithuania, from August 22-Latvia. The date of departure of Nikolai Gruzdev makes Yelabuga military enlistment office a post-war report from August 7, 1946, which means that the military unit did not report anything about his fate. As a result, the fighter went missing in the period from June 24, and since it is known that he was wounded on June 23, but the award was not given to him, he either died before September 1944, or you need to make a request to the medical institutions of other divisions that fought with the 32nd.
