История 74 гвардейской артиллерийской дивизии - фотографии

Image: Continuing a successful offensive in Belarus, our troops completed in June the defeat of the central group of Germans near Minsk, the encirclement and destruction of 30 German divisions, where the regiment took an active part in combat, after which from 8.VIII to 13.VIII 1944. the regiment fought stubborn battles on the Bobyor River for the city and the Osovets fortress. On August 13, our troops seized the city and the Osovets fortress by storm. For military distinctions, for exemplary fulfillment of command assignments in the struggle against the German invaders, for taking possession of the city and fortress Osovets and for the valor and courage shown at the same time, the regiment received a thanks of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief and was awarded the Order of Alexander Nevsky.
Image: Finishing the cleansing of the Belarusian land from Hitler's scum and before our troops entered Polish territory, the enemy stubbornly resisted our advancing units, going over to counterattacks, throwing large forces of tanks and infantry into battle. Stubborn battles broke out in the area of height 165.3 7 km south-west of the city of Zambrov, where the regiment successfully repulsed all enemy counterattacks. In the photo: German tank "Tiger" hit by well-aimed fire of the 5th battery (battery commander, Captain Konokhov), which, like many others, was permanently out of order.
