Vasily Andreyevich Bezmenov (1923-2002) was fighting in the front line since 1942. Head of the Mortar Platoon of the Separate Training Rifle Company of the 253rd Rifle Red Banner Kalinkovichy Division. He fought in the Stalingrad (Don), Central, Belorussian, 1st Belorussian, 1st Ukranian Fronts. He almost reached Berlin where was wounded. He was awarded with two Orders of the Red Star: for crossing of the Vistula river and the liberation of the town of Sandomierz.
