Hero of the Soviet Union (1944), a pilot. At the front from November 1941 took part in the Battle of Moscow as a pilot of the 732nd Night Bombing Regiment. Then he passed training in flying an IL-2 aircraft and served in the assault aviation until the end of the war. He flew 149 sorties, shot down 8 enemy aircraft, destroyed 14 tanks, 50 vehicles, several guns and other objects. He was awarded the Orders of Lenin, the Red Banner (twice), Suvorov 3 degrees, Alexander Nevsky, the Patriotic War 1 and 2 degrees, the Red Star, the Gold Star medal, including the Polish medal “For the Odra, Nisa and the Baltic” and others.
