Arkady Vasilyevich Smirnov (1925). He went from a Red Army soldier to a colonel. In November 1943 he was sent to the 193rd Reserve Rifle Regiment, to a training battalion. Then he was redirected to the city of Vladimir in the 355th reserve rifle regiment to the position of squad commander. In September 1944 he arrived at the 1st Ukrainian Front in 3rd Guards 55th Tank Army near Lviv. He took part in battles in Berlin, fought for Poland and Czechoslovakia. He was awarded orders and awards.
