Boris Ponyavin

Boris Ponyavin was drafted into the Soviet Army in 1940. He met the Great Patriotic war on the Western border of the USSR. During the war, he served as a mechanic in aviation. He prepared planes for combat flights, repaired them after fighting in the sky, and participated in combat operations. He went through the whole from 1941 to 1945 on the Western Front. Celebrated the Victory in Europe in Prague. Awards: orders of the Red Banner, the Red Star, medals For Bravery, For the Victory over Germany, the Liberation of Prague. After the war, Lieutenant Colonel B. Ponyavin served in the army until 1962, he received the order of the 2nd degree for the preparation of the cosmodrome in Plisetsk. Died on 13.03.1973.
