At the front, he was a gun commander in a separate anti-tank destroyer battalion. In July 1944, Belokon, with a gun crew, provided our units with a ferry across the Zapadniy Bug in Belarus. Pyotr Ksenofontovich was wounded, but the combat mission to ensure the crossing was completed. By the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of February 22, 1945, Senior Sergeant Pyotr Ksenofontovich Belokon was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.
