Nikolay Karpovich Kalchenko was born on 10.6.1925 in the village of Alexandrovka, Azov region, Rostov oblast, in a peasant family. Russian. Member of the CPSU since 1967. He graduated from 9th grade in 1942. Worked as a tractor driver at a collective farm. In the Red Army since March 1942. Graduated from the regiment school of the 10th build. regiment in Fergana (Uzbekistan), served as a commander of a machine gun. 1944. He took part in battles of the Great Patriotic War since March 1944.
