Tsydenzhapov Bimba Tsydypovich

Tsydenzhapov Bimba Tsydypovich was born in 1914, in the village of Shibertui, Bichurskiy region of the Buryat-Mongolian ASSR. Bimba Tsydenzhapov, after completing five classes, worked for two years on a collective farm. In 1933, 17 years old, he went on foot to look for his share in the city. He got to Verkhneudinsk on the third day. His compatriot and relative Tsiden Tsibudeev, an active Komsomol member, a student of the communist agricultural school, got Bimba in a republican printing house. Starting with students, a capable young man on the eve of the war already works as an instructor. He showed himself as an active social activist, an athlete. On July 7, 1941, he was called up to serve in the Ulan-Ude city military commissariat. He gets to the 77th siding (Bezrechnaya station) in the Chita region, studies at the school of junior commanders. In October 1941, he went to the Western Front as part of the 93rd East Siberian Infantry Division, which, from October 24, concentrated on the Kamenka-Bogorodskoe-Gorki line (southwest of Podolsk), having the task of delaying the advance of the enemy, which was rapidly advancing along the Maloyaroslavskoe highway to Moscow. On October 26, the division engages in battle with enemy units that have broken through the Nara River. On April 20, 1942, for the courage shown in the battles for the Motherland, fortitude, courage, discipline and organization of the personnel, the division was transformed into the 26th Guards Motorized Rifle East Siberian Division. On July 30, 1942, the troops of the Kalinin Front launched the Rzhev-Sychev offensive operation. Already on the first day, our troops were 6-7 km from Rzhev. The Western Front, including the 26th Guards Regiment, was supposed to begin its offensive on August 2, but heavy rains pushed it back to August 4. It was on this day that our fellow countryman performed his feat. The presentation of the telephone operator of the 38th separate guards communications battalion Bimba Tsydypovich Tsydenzhapov to the Order of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree and the description of the feat was found on the Internet by Naydan Chimbeev (original style preserved): “Comrade Tsydenzhapov, working as a telephone operator, showed himself to be a courageous courageous signalman in providing the command with uninterrupted communications. So: when the Germans broke through the line of defense on 08/04/1942 on the river Derzha, comrade. Tsydenzhapov, under heavy enemy mortar and artillery fire, crawling with a reel of cable, provided the division commander with communication with the commander of the 75th Guards Rifle Regiment. From shell explosions and the bombing of German vultures, the communication line was torn every 5-10 minutes. To restore communication, a courageous and skillful signalman was required. The regiment was making a crossing over the Derzha River. Comrade was sent to restore communication. Tsydenzhapov. Despising dangers, risking his life, the brave signalman, under heavy enemy mortar fire, restored communications, thereby facilitating the success of the regiment's crossing and breaking through the enemy's defensive line. Conclusion: Worthy of a government award with the Order of the Patriotic War, 1st degree. " And then a rare case occurs: instead of the Order of the Patriotic War, corporal Tsydenzhapov, the Military Council of the Western Front awards the Order of the Red Banner of Battle. This is all the more impressive because the case takes place in 1942, when such awards were given extremely rarely, and only for exceptional feats. Such a feat was accomplished by a native of Buryatia. The website of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation "Memory of the People" contains a document from the TsAMO archive confirming this feat. Only the patronymic of the hero - Tsydylovich - was conveyed inaccurately. Everything else: year of birth, place of conscription, battalion and division numbers are the same. Then follows: “Who awarded - Z. Front. The name of the award is the Order of the Red Banner. The date of the feat is 08/04/1942. Fund number ist. information - 33. Inventory number ist. information - 682524. Case number ist. information - 377. Order of the subdivision No. 1005 dated 17.09.1942. Published by the Armed Forces of the Western Front. Archive of TsAMO ". Also attached is a photocopy of an archival document with the highlighting of the name of Bimba Tsydypovich Tsydenzhapov. All data coincide with the order book, which is kept by the descendants of the hero. It should be noted that the Rzhev-Sychevsky offensive was drowned out. Rzhev was released only seven months later, 2 million soldiers were killed on both sides. The historian of the battle for Rzhev notes: “One of the most important reasons for the disruption of the assault on Rzhev was heavy rains and heavy thaw. The rain replaced several divisions for the Nazis. Torrential rains that raised the water level in the Derzha River, the right tributary of the Volga 40 kilometers east of Rzhev, from 40-70 centimeters to 2-3 meters and turned it into a stormy wide stream, which demolished not only the bridges built on it, but also the floorings on fords and gats on the approaches to them. In such incredibly difficult conditions, a 21-year-old boy from Shibertui accomplished his feat. Then Bimba Tsydypovich Tsydenzhapov participated in the liberation of Belarus, Poland, and reached Berlin. He was wounded twice: in the legs and in the back of the head.He was awarded the Order of the Red Star (order No. 204 dated 05/13/45 to 88 Guards Rifle Division), medals "For Courage", "For the Defense of Moscow", "For the Liberation of Warsaw", "For the Capture of Berlin", after the war for the anniversaries of Victory - orders World War I, II degrees and many jubilee medals.
