Kartsev Nikolai Vasilyevich left for the front in 1943 as a volunteer and served as a radio telegraph operator of a platoon of control of the artillery commander of the 9th Guards Mechanized Red Banner Order of Kutuzov, 2nd degree of the Order of the Dniester-Rymninsky Corps 9 (1, 2 Ukrainian fronts), Transbaikal Front. He liberated Ukraine, Hungary, Austria, Czechoslovakia, Manchuzhiria - China. May 9 liberated Prague. After the victory over Japan, he continued to serve in the army in Transbaikalia and was demobilized only in 1950.
