Born in 1908. He entered the service in 1939. In the rank of captain of the Red Army he was drafted to the front in 1941: Military unit of the 66th guards rifle regiment, 23rd rifle division, 1st of the Schock Army of the Northwestern Front. He commanded a penalty company. Penalties were sent to the most dangerous places on the front. Heading a company of soldiers, always went first. In 1942 he took part in the battles for Stalingrad. He was wounded in battle and was taken to hospital. He returned to the front, and six months later received a contusion. He was treated for a long time in the hospital, and then was discharged. Awards: medals "For bravery", "For combat services" (1943). Order of the Red Star (1943).
