Bevzyuk Vasily Timofeevich was born on 24.12.1917 in the village of Osipovka, Frunzovsky district, Odessa region, Ukrainian SSR. In 1938, he was drafted into the Red Army. In 1939, he took part in the war with Finland. In one of the battles he was heavily concussed. In 1941 Vasily was called up from Tiraspol to the ranks of the active Red Army because of the beginning of the Patriotic War of 1941-1945. Place of military service: 69 separate air regiment based in Tiraspol. During WWII he served as the Commander of the Squad of drivers within 131st Battalion Airfield Services in the rank of Junior Sergeant at technical service. From the first days of the Patriotic War, he continuously worked on one BZ-35 machine. Due to his impeccable care and effective use of the special vehicle, Vasily achieved excellent results. During the 4 years of the war, he did not require a single repair of a car, despite the fact that it had a long combat path as part of the regiment. Thousands of refueled aircraft and hundreds of tons of gasoline transported over distances of thousands of kilometers led to the outstanding result of his combat work. From January to April of 1945, he made 5785 km behind the wheel, carrying 167 tons of gasoline and saving 141 kg of fuel. Throughout the combat work, he proved to be a disciplined, executive, strong-willed commander. Hero's battle path ran through the cities of Tiraspol, Nikolaev, Kherson ... from the Kalach station, a regiment with reinforcements is sent to protect Stalingrad. After nazi were defeated at Stalingrad, his regiment was relocated for Kerch liberation and then transferred to the 1st Belorussian front. Bevzyuk Vasily Timofeevich liberated Krasnodar, Belarus, Poland. On Victory day he was in Germany, in the city of Neubrandenburg. Awarded: - medal " for Military Merit "(order b/n of 22.05.1945); - order of the Patriotic War II degree; - order of Glory II-III degree; - medal "for the Victory over Germany"; - medal " for the Defense of the Caucasus" (order of 11.11.1944, entry 1530617954); - five anniversary medals. During the war, in the liberated Krasnodar, he met his future wife, Valentina Volkova, born on 27.07.1923, who studied at the radio operator courses. Until the end of the war, they were like a pen friends. At the end of the war, they met again in Shakhty, Rostov region. 2 years later, in 1947, they moved to Tiraspol. Vasily and Valentina raised two daughters: Tamara and Galina. More than 40 years behind the wheel, covered distance of about 3 million km. For the hard work in the post-war period, he was awarded the badge "Winner of the five-year plan" three times.
