Kuzma Brezhnev

Rank: Sergeant. Branch of Service: Armored and Mechanized Troops. I want to talk about my great-grandfather, Kuzma Brezhnev. He was born on November 4, 1923. My great-grandfather defended our homeland from invaders during the war. Kuzma began his military service in the summer of 1942 in a tank units as a private. When he went to the front, his wife and daughter (my grandmother) were waiting for him at home. For three years, my great-grandfather walked the roads of war. Awarded the Medal For Bravery and the Order of the Red Star. Received a commendation for the capture of Budapest. When he participated in the liberation of Poland, he was already a Sergeant, a tank commander. More than one tank battle was held together by the commander and his crew. My grandfather told my father that when Poland was liberated, they went first. The street was quiet, not a single living soul and suddenly a shell hit his tank. It was a scary moment. When he talked about it, tears came from his eyes. My grandfather was hit in the head and lost consciousness. Severely wounded, almost deafened he regained consciousness only a few days later in the hospital. After recovery, he continued to fulfill his military duty to the Motherland. He returned home in 1947, where his wife (Zoya Brezhneva) and little daughter (Irina Bukreeva) were waiting. In recent years, great-grandfather was seriously ill, old wounds made them felt. Unfortunately, in 2000, he died (I was 4 months old). But our family will always remember him, his difficult fate, and his honestly fulfilled duty to the Motherland. I am proud that he is my great-grandfather! Great-grandfather's portrait is available on the stand in the school Museum "Veterans, Put on Your Orders!" and on the stand "Our countrymen – participants of the Great Patriotic War". My great-grandfather, Kuzma, He was the best in the world! Memory, honor to him, praise, Survived all the troubles. Veteran and front-line soldier, The jacket is covered in medals, it's a Pity that he is not alive, From the photo, the look is sad. Protected it from enemies Cities and villages, Boldly went with friends into battle, I've seen a lot of grief. The main holiday in may is, It Is A Day Of Victory! I'm proud of you, great-grandfather! For your brave feat!
