Vasily Bardadin

Rank: Colonel. Branch of Service: Land Forces, Air Force (except for Naval Aviation), Coast Guard, NKVD troops, Border Guard. Unit: 212th Motorized Division. Vasily Bardadin was born in 1897. He served in the tsarist army, participated in the battles of the First World War, and rose to the rank of minor non-commissioned officer. Bardadin joined the Workers and peasants Red Army in 1918. He participated in the Civil war as the chief of the cavalry intelligence of the 3rd Soviet Detachment, then as a machine-gunner instructor of the reserve in Samara Regiment, and as an assistant platoon commander of a separate cavalry regiment. He actively participated in the battles with Basmach formations in Central Asia, especially distinguished himself during the battle of the village of Durman on July 23, 1922. By order of the Revolutionary Military Council of the Republic #147 of October 4, 1923, Squadron Commander of the 4th Cavalry Regiment of the 2nd Separate Cavalry Brigade Vasily Bardadin was awarded the Order of Rhe Red Banner of the RSFSR. After the war, he continued to serve in the Red Army. In 1925, he completed the cavalry advanced training course for command staff, after which he held various command positions in cavalry units. He participated in the battles of the Great Patriotic War, asa First Deputy Commander, and then Commander of the 212th Motorized Division. Later, he commanded the 91st Cavalry Dvision, was Deputy Commander of the 4th Guards Cavalry Corps, Commander of the 67th Cavalry and 300th Rifle Divisions, and Deputy Commander of the 59th Rifle Corps. Bardadin was dismissed to the reserve with the rank of Colonel in 1946. He was awarded the Order of Lenin, three Orders of the Red Banner, the Order of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree and the Order of the Red Star, the Order of the Red Banner of the Khorezm SSR (5.10.1925) and a number of medals.
